Our Story
I was born into a family that was rich with love for each other and a love for good old-fashioned cooking. My family members were all great cooks, and I spent the first twelve years of my life enjoying their delicious treats. EVERYONE cooked but my grandfather, Mr. Cleveland Jones, was by far the best chef in the South, and my grandmother, Mrs. Annie Mae, could "put a hurting on a sweet potato pie."
My Aunt Jannie made the best German chocolate cake, Aunt Betty made the sweetest pies and collard greens, and my Aunt Margaret made beef stew "like it was nobody's business!" Unfortunately, my mother Helen didn't learn how to cook, but what she lacked in culinary skills, she more than made up for with her love.
These experiences instilled foundational principles that have guided my life decisions, including my dedication to cooking. Sweet Potatoes is one of my passions, and I strongly believe in staying in my lane and working hard with passion and consistency to make it accessible to our community.
